Claramunt's castle

Yesterday the challenge was the Claramunt's castle, we lengthened one of our tracks and we made it to the castle. It was good to enjoy the views from up there and also the fun down hill. There was just a problem, we were all starving to visit the castle and when we arrived it was closed, such a shame!
Anyway, we will go there again someday!
Although we couldn't take any photo to show you, we all used our lights for the first time... I have to say that we looked really cool!
I promise to upload a night picture next day!

Here you've got some pics:

Enjoy the track:

flat tires!

We had a good challenge that day, it was going to be a tough ride due the sharp slopes up we had to ride at the beginning of the track, but the kids surprised me again. They showed me how in such a good shape they are and they had no problems to ride up the hills.
After 10 km riding up hill the good part finally started. we enjoyed ourselves speeding up our bikes while we faced the down hills, but then, one of our mates shouted " slow down! I think I have a flat tire!" actually he didn't have one, he had flat tires in both wheels!!
The point is that he didn't follow the rules we created at the beginning of this mountain bike riding experience; We always use helmet and we must take at least two new inner tube with us.
He just had one new inner tube and plus it didn't match the wheel, Fortunately, the teacher had two new inner tubes with him so he could fix the problem.
We started riding again, but just 1 km away another kid had a flat tire! and again he forgot to take new inner tubes with him.

It was getting late and we were running out of time before dusk so the teacher lead the group to the closer road and asked the kids to wait there until he came back.
The teacher had to ride as fast as he could to the high school to pick up the car and drove back to where the kids were waiting.
Definitely it was the only solution to haul back the bike and the kid, because, keep in mind, that we were about 8 km away from school.
To come back the teacher order the kids to line up and ride back while he was closing the group with the car.
From now one there will be searching before leaving the school everyday!

fun ride yesterday, Monday the 16th of November, 2015

Yesterday we really enjoyed our ride. It was an easy but fun ride along a single track in the woods. We also could visit an old chapel and an old building attached to it which the guys said it was pretty spooky!

Check the photos below!

such a muddy day!

It was expected to be a fun ride yesterday, and it actually was till we had almost arrived, let me explain you the whole story.

We left the high school at 3.45 pm, like always, and there was a prospect riding with us, just another student who wanted to join us, and of course, we all were crazy about it!  He wanted to test himself and try to join us, but just a few kilometres away, he realised he was not in good shape and he had to come back to the high school, such a shame!

After this first disappointing moment we kept on, but just five minutes later one of the guys had a flat tire... fortunately Josep, our Jack of all trades, was there to fix it in five minutes!

After that, a cool ride through nice paths in the woods was waiting for us, and definitely a steep slope to ride up too!

We finally did it, and after 5 km cycling uphill we reached the summit of la Tosa, an interesting hill close to Santa Margarida de Montbui, which offers some jaw-dropping views of Montserrat.

We wasted our time up there enjoying the views and taking some photos, and also preparing ourselves for an exciting downhill!

Once at the bottom of la Tosa, it was getting late, the sun was getting off and we decided to go straight to school. we had the track in the GPS, but two of our guys said they knew a shortcut to arrive earlier, so when we were just 1,3 km away from school... the nightmare started!
It turned out that the shortcut was a creek which use to be dry but due to the last week rains the terrain had become completely muddy, we couldn't even ride on it!
What was expected to be a shortcut became a path that took almost an hour to make since we couldn't ride on it, and we had to haul our bikes on our shoulders, plus, everything done in the dark of the night.
Finally, we all arrived at the high school. It was definitely a bad experience although it taught a good lesson; we should always get stuck to the track!

Here you have some pics of the day.

Here you have the track;

Last week we went to Tosa by bike, it was easy and fun although it was cold. There was much height gain and when we came back it was the contrary. The problem was when we used another path to go faster and this path was muddy. The wheels couldn't spin and we were angry because it was getting dark. At the end, we arrived without any problem and another experience to explain.
